Santa Ana Cutting Service, Inc. was founded in 1989 by German Salgado, whose decade-and-a-half of experience in fabric cutting and marker making at NILS Skiwear gave him a deep knowledge of the trade.
​​Working out of his garage, German began cutting samples for OC's major surf brands including QUICKSILVER, BILLABONG, and GOTCHA. His commitment to quality, reliability, and craftmanship earned him a respected place in the industry.

As the business expanded, German remained dedicated to supporting both large and small apparel makers - especially those unable to meet high MOQs. He provided invaluable guidance and helped bridge the gap between creativity and real-world production.​
Today, Santa Ana Cutting Service, Inc. remains family-owned and is now led by his son, Edgar, who learned everything he knows from him. Edgar has continued the legacy with the same care and integrity since German's passing in 2021.
